Phil and Melinda Evans are the owner / operators of Hood-Pro, Inc.
Since 1997, Hood-Pro, Inc. has been cleaning and repairing commercial kitchen exhaust hood systems. Hood-Pro, Inc. has built its business on integrity and customer satisfaction.

Our Employees
All Hood-Pro, Inc. employees are trained and certified as competent in accordance with the most current version of NFPA 96 by Hood Technology Institute.

Our Beginning
In the spring of 1997 Phil Evans and an employee traveled to Chicago IL for training by a large vent-a-hood company. Phil thought it would have good synergy with his floor coating company that specialized in slip resistant seamless floors for commercial kitchens. Mr. Evans of Hood-Pro was among the first group to be formally certified competent per NFPA-96. This certification was held in Dayton Ohio and was given by the National Power Washers Association (NPWA). The test was developed by members of the NFPA 96 standards committee.

In 2005, after Phil trained several relatives how to operate a successful commercial kitchen exhaust business, Melinda Evans spe

nt 5 months developing a formal program to train and certify hood cleaning technicians and those who wanted to own and operate a vent-a-hood cleaning business. This effort lead to the start of Hood Technology Institute, Inc. Hood Technology is co-owned by Melinda and her daughter, Leigh Anne Ramsey - a Georgia Tech engineering graduate. Hood Technology is responsible for the training and certification of Hood-Pro, Inc. employees. Hood Technology now limits it’s training to fire departments, school systems, and large restaurant and grocery store chains. Class size is limited to a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20.
